An extreme drought with hot conditions throughout the growing season. The decision to pick earlier was made to avoid overripe and heavy flavours. This has worked in that the wine is fragrant spicy and with soft flavour. Oak maturation was in 25% new barrels the remainder in large French oak which has aided the softness. The nose has a slightly mint aroma, coupled with vanilla oak flavour that is persitant but in a light frame. (Alcohol 12.6)
